Everyone was blessed at the Crossroad Barber & Beauty Expo. The Crossroads Barber Competition this past weekend was a major win for the salon professionals that attended. It’s football season, so forgive my sports analogies in this post. For the third year in a row, Schererville, IN played host as the home team favorite. Here’s my play-by-play recap:
Students advanced their careers by experiencing live demonstrations by some of the industry’s finest educators. Ivan Zoot launched the series, followed by Thursday “ThatGirlCanCut” Ferrell, and Attorney Bryan Bullock. The quarter ended with a huge touchdown! Students watched and learned as @RobTheOriginal did a live portrait cut in the endzone.
Students, barbers, and cosmetologists from across the Midwest gathered to meet and network. The venue has doubled in size from its inaugural year because of the growth in popularity of Crossroads. This is in large part due to the hard work of Eric Hanspard. This entire event is his vision. With the help of TeamBarberIndiana, more than 20 vendors participated with many sponsors in attendance.
BestDooz was proud to be one of the returning sponsors. It was our “homecoming” and a great chance to reconnect with so many industry professionals. We also met many new friends there as well.
“I’m always excited to share how technology (and our tools) can benefit salon professionals.”– Lori Fisher, CEO & Founder of BestDooz.com
The exhibit hall roared with excitment as the barber competitions began. The barber competitions kicked off with the Graffetch Freestyle event. That play was followed by the Kids Total Look Halloween Theme contest. Most of all, the competition was fierce. During timeouts, Shante Randolph and Marvin Scissorhands kept the crowd engaged and hyped.
The final quarter began with the Glamour Makeup competition. Contestants beat faces for a chance at the prize title and trophy. The award was sponsored by Tricoci University. The female barber competition showcased some of the finest females in the game. The student barber competition was also fierce. Finally, the event ended with a Fade and Sponge competition.
