Transforming to a New YOU!7 Tips to Keep Your New Years Resolution for Fitness

Change isn’t always visible, when you think about starting your fitness journey, the first thing you want to remember is that you’re not going to see the change immediately.  Fitness should be a long term goal that is achieved through commitment all year long.

What’s going to make this year different?

7 Fitness Tips to Keep Your New Years Resolution

  1. Remember change doesn’t happen over night. Be patient with yourself. Take it day by day.

  2. Drink water to prevent your hair stopping you from workoutsStart every day by drinking 6 to 8 oz of water when you first get up. Why? The body goes in a state of dehydration and needs these fluids to operate. Drinking water also helps to release harmful toxins from the body.

  3. Eat breakfast after you wake up. The old breakfast cliché is really true.  Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it will increase your fat burning ability, and boost your energy and metabolism.

  4. Start out by doing cardio workouts at least 3 times a week.  Start with workouts that last at least 25 minutes and set goals to build up to more. If you want to add weights, do it slowly. Consider getting a personal trainer to start you on your way.

  5. Eat at least 3 meals a day–breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacking causes weight gain.
